This is an older presentation I found in the archives of my folders. I presented this to Canterbury Regional Information Managers (CRIMs) in July 2024 on the benefits of adopting the shared services model for archival repositories. Archives Central is the only shared services model archive operating in New Zealand, managing 9 local authorities physical and digital records for the Manawatū-Whanganui Region (plus Hawke’s Bay Regional Council). Archives Central continues to grow and has over 5,000 linear metres of physical storage, recently completing an expansion of their mobile shelving. I was the Senior Archivist of Archives Central from December 2018 til December 2022.
