WORK
HISTORY
Senior Archivist, Archives Central
I was the Senior Archivist at Archives Central for five years. Under my guidance, Archives Central undertook a full redevelopment of its database and content management system (CMS). Archives Central was confirmed as one of the first institutions globally to adopt the cutting-edge Records in Context Conceptual Model (RiC-CM) developed by the International Council of Archives (ICA). Stored material from local authorities grew by 100%+ under my direction.
President, Archives and Records Association of New Zealand (ARANZ)
During my tenure, first as Vice-President then President, I oversaw the successful running of ARANZ for nearly three years. I successfully negotiated key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with tertiary institutions and professional bodies. I also launched outreach initiatives, such as the Lunchtime Kōrero talks to support members during COVID.
Trust Board Member, Te Manawa
Over a three-year period I provided strategic direction for compliance, finance, projects and ensuring Te Manawa was aligned with it’s key stakeholder, Palmerston North City Council. I collaborated closely with fellow trustees to ensure the best outcomes for the Organisation.
